Bringing People Together: Trent Hancock | Dream Home

Trent Hancock grew up in the Camelot Homes office, spending time as a kid drawing on blueprints after school and watching new homeowners come in to talk about their dream home.

“I originally wanted to be an architect and design my own homes,” he said. “It’s been a part of my life since I was born.”

Today, Trent works with new home buyers searching for their perfect dream home in Camelot Homes’ Bocara community. His work in sales affords him the opportunity to interface between Camelot Homes and home buyers as they go through the process of finding—and designing—their dream home.

Trent says the company’s Design Studio is a huge draw for new home buyers who want to put their special touches on their new home. “Our home buyers work one-on-one with our designers to select cabinets, flooring and countertops—all of the things that make it your home and unique to you,” he said. “A lot of home buyers come in and see the model then get an idea of what they want.”

Combined with Camelot Homes’ 45+ years of luxury homebuilding experience, each homebuyer’s input allows them to come in and make the home theirs, he said.

The design of a dream home’s common areas has evolved over the last several years, Trent says, as more homeowners entertain at home and require a large enough space for everyone to come together. “We’ve incorporated a lot more of this in our new designs,” he said. “Having a place for everyone to gather and be together is the most important thing.” From holiday parties to weekend get-togethers, a well-designed and functional common area makes any home feel more inviting.

His own personal mantra is to “follow the things in life that bring people together,” which is perfectly aligned with his role at Camelot Homes. “Whenever something brings people together, that’s inherently good,” he said. “It holds true for my other passions—music and the arts—and, of course, the home. The home is where people come together.”
