#1 In A Small Niche

October 3, 2012

When J.W Hancock began building homes in the late 1950’s his goal wasn’t to be the biggest luxury home builder. He was simply doing what he loved with an unmatched sense of pride and a belief that his attention to detail would inevitably make for happy homeowners. In carrying out his goal of building quality homes, and passing that commitment for excellence onto his son Mark and his granddaughter Cameron, the family legacy lives on in Camelot Homes.

As one of Arizona’s premier builders of luxury homes, we understand the value of being a leader in a small niche. Take the auto industry for example. While everyone who builds a car uses the same components- doors, steel, windows and tires, there is only one Porsche. When you buy a Porsche, you define yourself as someone who appreciates a well built, classically beautiful and elite automobile that won’t be found on every street corner.

And so it is at Camelot. Over the past 40 years, we have resisted the opportunities to sell out, mass produce and size up. Being locally owned and family run brings a level of accountability and pride not found in the national homebuilders. As a luxury leader we strive to consistently raise the bar and redefine our goals. We have spent decades creating a brand identity and we remain true to it. We have worked with many of the same architects and craftsmen for years, and like other “artistes,” some of them have definite opinions as to how things must be done. After all, you would never presume to tell Michelangelo how to paint… We get it, and the end result is a home built with such passion and attention to detail, that it would be difficult to replicate.

Our focus on Customer service is another key differentiator between being good and being great. When working with our customers our goal is to continually provide responsive service that not only accurately resolves any issue that may come up, but also reflects our company’s identity, and will impart the right impression to keep our customers coming back. There is no truer form of flattery than a family upgrading to their second or third Camelot Home. For us, that’s what it’s all about.

Being the biggest builder In Arizona was never our goal, but building classically designed, quality-built, prestigious homes for the discriminating few, is. And like Porsche, there is no substitute!
